Whether or not you sign it`s worth reading and considering the issues. https://www.change.org/p/stop-the-uk-2025-copper-landline-upgrade-by-bt/psf/promote_or_share What are the issues? As the UK transitions to VoIP, several critical issues arise that warrant careful consideration. The primary concern is the reliability of VoIP services during adverse conditions. Unlike traditional copper-wire landlines, which can continue to function during power outages, VoIP relies on electricity and internet connectivity. In emergency situations such as natural disasters or widespread power failures, individuals may find themselves without a reliable means of communication, hindering their ability to call for help or stay connected with loved ones. Another pressing issue is the digital divide, which is exacerbated by the shift to VoIP. While many individuals are already accustomed to digital technologies, others, particularly the elderly, may struggle to adapt to the complexities of VoIP systems. This lack of digital literacy can lead to frustration, alienation, and increased social isolation. Furthermore, for those living in areas with inadequate internet infrastructure, the installation of high-speed broadband may be costly and time-consuming, further delaying access to essential communication services. -

I`m pretty used to using ATMs but lately there are so many different designs I never know where the money is coming out!!And have to think about which is the card slotr sometimes too. And the various slots don`t have labels either. Why not?! Surely that can`t be a security risk? Last year in the time it took me to find the money delivering slot-right down at thigh level-one had sucked my money back in and wouldn`t let me try again.Yesterday I couldn`t finb which slot was delivering and nearly walked away thinking it had run out of dosh. If it hadn`t been for the two very kind young ladies behind me I`d`ve lost my £100!! How the hell do you tell where it`s coming from? -

I mean he paid NO Inheritance tax "If Charles were any other Briton, he would have had to pay millions in inheritance tax, but in 1993, the then prime minister John Major granted the Windsors their single most precious financial asset -total immunity to this tax."😮 A lot more of us would be more well off we had that advantage. Why did JM do that? They can`t vote for his party? Did they pay it before? Haven`t found that out for certain yet but it kinda implies they did-doesn`t it? Surely that reduces the Govs` purse? Can`t see the logic? -

I got an email from Meta today. This is it...... "Unregistration notice Hi, This is to inform you that your developer account does not have any roles on any apps (such as an admin). As such, to keep your developer account registration, we ask that you create an app or receive a role on an existing app within the next 30 days. If this developer account is not associated with an app by this date, this developer account will become unregistered. Please note that this will be the only reminder you receive in this time period and if no action is taken, this account will become unregistered in 30 days. Any removal of your developer account does not impact your personal Facebook account." I don`t even know what it means, let alone if it`s a scam or not!!🤣🤣 What`s a developer account? I can`t have one or surely I`d know? I won`t let the FB App on my phone(too annoying!) so what App are they referring to that I have to `associate my developer account` with? And of course it`s a `no-reply` email it came from so I can`t ask them!! And there`s no way I`m clicking that"Goto App dashboard" button!! Anyone know what it`s all about? -

Guy phones you, very business like and brusque, saying he`s Sergeant whatever, even gives a (spurious) badge number from Scotland Yard. Says there`s been fraudulent activity on your account. A quick check online will assure you that isn`t true,or ring your bank to assure yourself-I did. Don`t give him any details. He may know your name and address but anyone can get most people`s from a directory or the voters register and many other places. I don`t even confirm they have the right person if it`s someone I don`t know-even if they say it`s the police! He says, "ring the Police on 161 if you prefer" -this website says it`s a hotel... https://who-called.co.uk/Number/161#caller-id I can see how this would panic some people into calling 161 and getting scammed. -

Have I posted this before? Can`t recall 🤣 Worth repetion! This is such a nice caring group,no disagreements, no trolls, very little judgement. Just sympathetic ears, some people who understand to have a rant with, information, others who are doing it and understand better how to do certain things you`ve never done before or tricks to help you cope. Allsorts and all positive. https://www.facebook.com/groups/701216963312629?hoisted_section_header_type=recently_seen&multi_permalinks=5546548498779427 But boy are there some sad stories and so many carers getting isolated and exhausted.
