Click the link below for information on how to set up a loop. Be aware that when you set up your loop, it will only be shown in the list of loops on the app. This is because the app shows all loops, whereas viewers of the website can see only loops that have 2 or more members. To overcome this you can ask someone to join it. https://bit.ly/3wMvEH7 -

I.T. Non-Techie help, information and tips Information, tips and myths - No.17 - (Xmas) batteries (Edited)Don't forget to get batteries for any presents that need them. If the instructions say to use alkaline batteries, don't use rechargeable ones. Rechargeable batteries have different characteristics to alkaline batteries, such as the voltage, which is 1.2v instead of 1.5v. They can also be different sizes. https://bit.ly/3NqlqF4 -

For various safety/security reasons, you should never post any of the following on a public website such as Scooploop/Facebook: 1. Your photograph - This can open a whole world of trouble, such as identity theft. 2. Telephone number. 3. Address - even a location. 4. Name. 5. Email address. 6. Date of birth. The smallest amount of information can be used to your detriment. On Facebook, never post your holiday photos while you are on holiday, or that you are going on holiday. -

I.T. Non-Techie help, information and tips Information, tips and myths - No.15 - Email recovery informationShould you ever forget your email password, or it is not accepted for some reason, you will, of course, click 'Forgot password'. To gain access to your account you will have to prove who you are. This is done using the recovery information in your account, so it is essential that this is kept up-to-date. If you have no recovery information then add some - alternate email or a mobile phone number. If you get a new phone number, you must change it before you lose access to the old one. If your recovery information is not correct, or you have none, then you may never see your email account again. -

Advert free version, original article in link. Stolen - Benfleet family's Christmas house display charity box in memory of their two-year-old son (Image: George's Windmills/Canva) A FAMILY feel “violated, hurt and saddened” after a donation box raising cash in memory of their two-year-old son with a dazzling Christmas lights display was stolen from outside their home. Hayley Hatfield, her partner Anthony, and their son, Thomas, decked their Benfleet home out in Christmas decorations in a bid to raise money for their charity George’s Windmill. The family launched the charity to support the families of sick children in memory of their son, George, who died in December 2019, after a battle with a rare liver disease. Dazzling - the family's Christmas lights display (Image: George's Windmills) The home, in Kents Hill Road, was covered in Christmas lights at the end of November and the charity tin was stolen between Thursday last week and Saturday morning. Hayley, 37, said: “I am fuming and disappointed more than anything. “I cannot even imagine someone would steal from a charity, but it has happened. “On the box was my little boy George’s face, who has passed away and we raise money for. In memory - George (Image: George's Windmills) “We do have a replacement donation box for George’s Windmills that we can put out but if it has happened one, it could happen again – which is what I am fearing. “We are all feeling violated, hurt and saddened.” On Saturday evening, Mrs Hatfield and her nine-year-old were about to start their walk in the street to see the lights, when she noticed the box was missing. All that was left on the wall were the screws. Remains - screws in the brick wall (Image: George's Windmills) All proceeds were set to go to George's Windmills, which was formed in 2021. George was born on July 18, 2017, but after some “extremely precious weeks” at home, it was discovered he was suffering from a very rare liver disease called biliary atresia, which affects the bile ducts of infants. On January 14, 2019, he received a donor but after six months, his health deteriorated and by December, he was diagnosed with post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease (PITLD) – a rare and aggressive form of cancer. At Great Ormond Street Hospital, he passed away at just two-years-old. Being a Windows user, I did not have Safari in mind. I have removed the current poll, and will be replacing it with one in respect of desktop/laptop use only, not phones or tablets. Including those devices does not give a true picture of browser choice on a computer. A poll of iphones/iPads/Android tablets would reflect market share, i.e. Safari users would be 30%. I shall do a separate poll of those devices soon. Thanks to all who have voted in the previous poll. -
